Happy Friday girls! Can we talk about the eternal petite struggle of blazer sleeves? You find The One- perfect color, perfect shoulders, perfect price and then you put it on and suddenly you look like you’re wearing your dad’s suit jacket. Same girl. I’ve been there more times than I can count.
So today I’m sharing the three petite blazers for women (well, two blazers and one vest that’s basically an honorary blazer) that have actually earned a permanent spot in my work wardrobe. I’m 5’2″, and every single one of these fits without a trip to the tailor- which, if you know, you know is basically a miracle in petite-land.
Let’s get into it.
What Makes a Blazer “Petite-Friendly,” Anyway?
Before we jump in, here’s what I’m actually looking for when I’m hunting for a petite blazer:
- Sleeve length that doesn’t swallow your hands (the #1 petite blazer crime)
- Shoulder seams that hit at your actual shoulder, not halfway down your arm
- Proportional length — a blazer that hits mid-hip on a 5’9″ model can hit your thighs
- Structure without bulk — tailored, not boxy
With that in mind, here are my three current go-tos.
1. The Drop Blazer (Amazon)
Price:$56 on Sale. $74 Reg (you can wait until it’s on sale)
This one I love so much because of the price point, the quality and the long modern fit. I did size down to an XXS to make sure it wasn’t oversized on me. I don’t love that look for the office.
- The sleeves are a tad long to appear ‘tailored’ but it’s perfect when I’m wearing a shirt underneath because I just push them up a bit.
- It doesn’t appear boxy. I think it even cinches the waist a bit!
- It was on sale when I grabbed mine, so keep an eye on the price- it fluctuates
This is the one I reach for when I want to look pulled together but I’m not trying to feel like I’m in a costume. Throw it over a basic tee and trousers and you’re done. I have the camel, black and white!! I simply don’t have the budget to buy all the colors in Aritzia and Abercrombie so this one does the trick!

2. The Long Length Nipped-Waist Suiting Blazer (Abercrombie)
Why I love it:
- It appears tailored without feeling tailored, if that makes sense
- Most of the time it’s on SALE!
- Even though it’s a “long length” blazer, it doesn’t overwhelm me, which honestly surprised me
- It elevates literally everything- jeans, trousers, a slip dress, doesn’t matter.
- Price point isn’t astronomical
This will be your “I have a meeting with leadership” blazer. It just does something for your posture, you know?
3. The Regal Vest (Aritzia)-Not a Blazer, But Hear Me Out
I know, I know- it’s a vest, not a blazer. And I know this one is pricier, but it’s worth it. And for me to say something is worth this price- you know it’s good.
It earned its spot on this list because it solves the exact same problem blazers are supposed to solve, and it does it better than most actual blazers I own.
If you’re allowed to wear sleeveless in the office, I would suggest a vest. Sometimes i don’t want the overwhelming feeling of a blazer and this looks professional over wearing a basic top! Perfect for meeting days in the summer. You can style this sooo many ways! With jeans, trousers or even linen pants on the weekend!
- I’m wearing a size 6 due to my breast size and it still fits so well in the waist.
- Tailored without being “tailored,” if that makes sense- structured through the waist but not stiff
- Layers perfectly under a regular blazer in colder months or alone in summer when you want structure without the heat
If you’ve never tried a tailored vest as a blazer substitute, this is your sign. It’s become one of my most-worn staples

I’m not going to pretend these are the only three good petite blazers in existence- but they’re the three I keep coming back to, and honestly, that says a lot. These are the ones I consider staples that I can wear all year round!
