Here’s to 29! My birthday was Monday and I’ve been thinking back on all my past experiences, memories and lessons learned. Tonight I want to share with ya’ll some things I’ve learned by age 29- a few things that have changed my life. 🙂
- Self Love– this is one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned this year alone. It’s important to love yourself and TALK to yourself like someone you love. I’ve learned to be ME in all of my own special ways… Learning to fall in love with yourself truly is the first secret to happiness.
- Success comes from consistency.
- There really is no failure– you either win or you learn. Learning to live without fear of failure will lead you to so many things you didn’t know even existed. Fear of failure becomes a paralytic. It will take you down and keep you from learning, trying or living at all. I think we tend to stay ‘small’ in fear of complete failure or losing something because we can’t see the other side or the outcome in the end…Start thinking of failure as a chance to learn something new and see where it takes you.
- Choose to be the light in the room. Always. It’s better to leave the room knowing you were the light and not the dimmer. In any situation.
- Drink Collagen. Collagen really is my best friend, ya’ll. Liquid Collagen is the GAME CHANGER for your hair skin and nails. I’ll be drinking it until I can’t anymore.
- Become a morning person! There’s nothing like waking up at 6:30 and being more productive in a matter of two hours than you are all day. I love it.
- Make the gym a want to vs a have to– Going to the gym for me is a priority and not just for my physical health- I can’t say that I always go to the gym and get a great workout in. Sometimes it’s quite the opposite. I go, not feeling well and leave more mentally focused and in a better mood. 🙂
- Become the main character of your life: The sooner you realize this, the better I think.
- Forgiveness is powerful. forgiveness is freedom. It liberates you from offense, from bitterness, from longing pain and the negative spirits that suffocate your mind and your heart. Forgive the unforgivable.
- Be fully present. Time is such a gift, the most expensive gift.
- During difficult trials- you can also meet the strongest, best version of yourself. You meet the new you, the better you, the you that come out on the other side, the you that you’ve always wanted to be.
- Choose to be the bigger person even when it’s hard. Don’t allow anyone to make you cruel.
- Dive into Podcasts– they can be life changing. I love to listen to podcasts when I wake up in the morning ranging from worship, motivational, work related etc.
- Create good Habits. set your goals, challenge yourself, move your body, journal your thoughts, let go of things you can’t control, shift your mindset to positive thinking, get in a daily routine, celebrate small wins, use your time wisely, etc.
- Say ‘I love you’ more to the ones that matter. You’ll only wish you could say it one more time when you can’t say it anymore.
- Trust Your Intuition.
- Live for moments you can’t put into words. That’s when you’re really living.
- Real beauty is in the way you treat people. The way you hold yourself. The way you care.
- Good things never come from comfort zones. get used to being uncomfortable if you’re looking to grow.
- Unfortunately, sometimes the hardest thing is the right thing.
- Invest in yourself. Get the massage, get your hair done, your nails done, go to the gym, see a therapist, eat healthy food, take time to rest, stop talking yourself out of opportunities because you don’t feel ‘ready’ yet.
- You deserve to be someones only choice.
- Build a wardrobe for yourself that you LOVE. Clean our your closet, get rid of everything you don’t care for. Every few weeks, buy a piece or two of clothing that you love and feel good in.
- Consider the people you’re surrounding yourself with– you are what you consume. People, social media, tv etc.
- Be kind to unkind people. They need it the most, more than you realize.
- ‘Find out who you are and do it on purpose‘- Dolly Parton
- It’s okay to sit alone at the table vs feeling the need to fit in with what you don’t believe in.
- Wear your sunscreen. 🙂 Get you a spray bottle on amazon, a bottle of self tanner and get your tan on.
- We’re all a work in progress..let’s work on extending an unending amount of Love and Grace to each other.
