Happy OCTOBER!! Fall is finally in the air- my favorite time of year! This Saturday was date night and we chose to go to a broadway show in Louisville! Saturday night was perfect- the weather was crisp and cool, and the leaves were starting to change.
I wanted to wear something that fit the occasion, so I went with this emerald green embellished dress. Ya’ll, Lulu’s ALWAYS has the best options for special occasion dresses. So, we decided to see ‘Wicked’ at the Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Louisville- this was my first time seeing this show and now I know what the hype is all about!! We arrived at the theater with 20 minutes to spare, grabbed a cup of coffee and headed to our seat. My favorite part of Broadway shows are the opening acts- it immediately sets the tone for the entire show. The performance was amazing! The music was powerful and the costumes were incredible!!! I’m always amazed at the work that goes into creating such art.
After the show, we popped into Jeff Ruby’s at closing time to see if they would seat us for dessert. They were kind enough to serve us while they were wrapping things up! We tried the chocolate espresso cake with ice cream and coffee and it was soooooo good!
We ate our cake, drank our coffee and shut the place down..literally haha.
Sometimes I like to take our day just as it goes- unplanned. I think it always makes for the best days, less stressful and most memorable. This season I encourage you to take time for those you love and care about! More than anything- be present wherever you are.

Tips to make your date night fun and special at a Broadway show:
- Choose a theme-inspired outfit. This makes it FUN and once you get there you’ll know why!!
- Don’t rush. The best part about seeing a broadway show is taking your time to enjoy it..
- Arrive early to the theater and grab a drink at the bar. This will give you time to walk around and feel the overall vibe of the show.
- After the show, stop by Jeff Ruby’s for dessert. It’s right down the street and they have so many options on their menu!
- Be sure to have fun and take time enjoy each other’s company. That’s what date nights are all about 🙂
