Ya’ll it’s officially FALL and I’m loving every minute of it! I’ve spent the past few weeks pondering on how to really slow down and be more present to enjoy all the small moments this season. We get so busy in the hustle and bustle of what the day brings and sometimes forget what life even means to us.
If you’re anything like me, you have a constant ongoing list of ‘things to do’ in your head and maybe even listed on 12 pieces of paper around your office or your house haha. I get it, it’s never ending. But that’s it right there, it really is never ending. So when do you stop, take a deep breath and just live? We have to choose gratitude and know that if it doesn’t get done, you did your best and the rest will get done tomorrow. And if there’s no tomorrow then it didn’t matter anyway.
Gratitude: Allows us to see what’s there instead of what isn’t.
This week and the rest of this season, I challenge you and myself to look at the simple things we are blessed with. Maybe that’s a crisp morning to wake up to, the leaves changing, the smell of fire on a cold night, picking pumpkins with the kiddos or maybe it’s just sipping on coffee you made at home. Brene Brown once said- “Joy comes to us in moments, ordinary moments. We risk missing out when we are too busy chasing down extraordinary moments”.
