Y’all I never really listened to podcasts until last year, 2021. I bet I didn’t even know what a podcast was until 2020. Oddly enough. I feel like I live under a rock sometimes haha. But man, what have I been missing??? No matter what season of life you’re in- you can find a podcast to be a little ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I’ve been on a self growth journey this year- focusing on positive mindset, being more present and diving into the word of God. I’m a firm believer that you become who and what your surround yourself with- we as humans have the tendency to fall into the negativity around us- whether that’s negative self talk or just negativity about the day in general. I’ve made a list of 7 of my favorite shows that build my spirit up, motivate me and keep me in line with the woman I want to become. I have found every single one of these to be uplifting and impactful to my life- all in different ways. I hope the rest of 2022 you can find tips from each of these podcasts to keep you laser focused on self growth, positive thoughts, cherishing the small moments and realizing that God is always on your team. 🙂
Rachel Hollis Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-rachel-hollis-podcast/id1245763628
This is my first one because she’s got it going on. It seems as if she has life all figured out and nothing keeps her from doing what she’s meant to do. She doesn’t allow anything or anyone to stand in her way. She’s a goal getter with drive and ambition to be a successful woman. Rachel is a true gem to listen to- she’s an open book with her life. She brings honest life advice to her listeners which I love most. I’ve learned some great life tips while I listened to her during the hardest part of my life. I’m always keeping her show at the top of my list.
Oprah Super Soul: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/oprahs-super-soul/id1264843400
GUYS! If you haven’t listened to this show, do it now. Forgiveness, Grace and Gratitude, The Climb….all of these shows are for everyone to hear. Her shows bring so much light in the darkness and my goodness even if you aren’t experiencing darkness, you can find so much good in her words. She says…I believe one of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself is time. Taking Time to be more fully present. Oprah experienced a lot of trauma in her life and it’s something she talks about often. If you’ve experienced childhood or adult trauma and looking for a roadmap to heal- this is for you.
Woman Evolve: Sarah Jakes Roberts
Sarah has allowed me to realize it’s okay to not be perfect. To not be put on a pedestal by the outside world and have to sustain it for the outside world. But instead- live in your purpose for God. She talks a lot about the messiness of life, tying a bow around it and making the best out of your own mess. She refers to stories in the bible often when trying to explain certain situations. This podcast alone has changed my mindset- you will love this one!!
Put Yourself First: Kat Horrocks
Kat is a mindset coach that I started listening to last year and I really like her show. She focuses on realizing your value, your worth and running with it. She talks about growth- mentally and professionally. I feel like Kat is the girl that openly says things that are honest that NO ONE else wants to say out loud haha. She’s open and honest about her thoughts on life….number 1 reason why I like her show so much!
Life with Loverly: Brittany
Brittany is a fashion blogger that I’ve been following on instagram for years. When she launched her podcast I knew I would want to follow along! It’s a little newer but I’ve loved all the episodes so far. She talks about shopping, blogging, life, being an entrepreneur etc. A little bit of everything! haha. I enjoy Brittany’s personality and find that her shows are uplifting no matter what she’s talking about!
Unexpected: Hannah Mooney
I LOVE listening to Hannah- She brings words of encouragement, peace to your mind and light to your soul. Her voice is so sweet and I think God is using her in such an amazing way. She seems to have a heart of gold and uses the bible to relate to stories she or (guests) tell. Her podcast is called “unexpected” as she says that the unexpected moments are the very ones that God uses in the biggest ways. I’ve found her words to be thoughtful and helpful and I think you will too! I also talked about Hannah in a recent blog post called Let Grace fill your gaps! Let Grace Fill Your Gaps
Sweet as Honey: Claire Wolford
Recently I ran across this podcast because I follow Rachel Wyatt on Instagram- A Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader that I find to be inspirational. She’s absolutely gorgeous on the inside and out! Claire had Rachel on her show a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it so much. She talked a lot about positivity and brought so much encouragement to the audience. I loved the show and went on to listen to the next couple shows and quickly realized this one needed to be on my list! This one makes for a good listen as Claire brings positivity to hard situations- she says her podcast is a one stop shop for intentional conversations, advice, Christianity, girl talk and inspiring stories. And THAT I can agree with!
I hope you enjoy these as much as I have! I’ve learned so much following along and listening to their words of encouragement, motivation and positivity! Let me know your favorites in the comments below!
